I might not know as much about Linux as any of you, but I've gotten as far as burning the iso image, and booting it up, and i have a small problem. It's asking for a "login" and a "password". I just installed it and it expects me to know a password the first time i run it. Is there some way this can be avoided or did i do something wrong? I have the virtualCity mandriva version, the latest, i downloaded it tonight 3/13.

(matt321 @ Apr 14 2007, 05:44 AM) 1. It's asking for a "login" and a "password". 2. Is there some way this can be avoided? 3. did i do something wrong? 1. EVERY Linux-distro asks for it. Always. 2. No, this is not Windoos, eh? Therefore Linux is safe, among others. 3. Yes! Put on a pair of spectacles! That's all. -------------------- |

Well, MCNLive should not ask for a password... only when trying to configure the system it will ask for the root password, but not to get into the system.
But I guess from the second post that you have already figured it out? -------------------- "Only wimps use tape backup: real men just upload their important stuff on ftp, and let the rest of the world mirror it." [Linus B. Torvalds]
