I might not know as much about Linux as any of you, but I've gotten as far as burning the iso image, and booting it up, and i have a small problem. It's asking for a "login" and a "password". I just installed it and it expects me to know a password the first time i run it. Is there some way this can be avoided or did i do something wrong? I have the virtualCity mandriva version, the latest, i downloaded it tonight 3/13.

1. It's asking for a "login" and a "password".
2. Is there some way this can be avoided?
3. did i do something wrong?

1. EVERY Linux-distro asks for it. Always.
2. No, this is not Windoos, eh? Therefore Linux is safe, among others. smile.gif
3. Yes! Put on a pair of spectacles! icon_cheesygrin.gif When VirtualCity has been started up, you see a fine desktop of a tropical scene. You also see some letters on it. (on the right side) Read them. ;).gif Got it?
That's all.

Well, MCNLive should not ask for a password... only when trying to configure the system it will ask for the root password, but not to get into the system.
But I guess from the second post that you have already figured it out?
