Hello ,
This morning before leaving to work, I downloaded “freevolive”.
I have just tested it. Very good.
Thanks!

But I had some problems but not very serious.
That's why it's v0.09 Muhahaha

Tv card works fine : ( lspci )
00:0a.0 Multimedia video controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Video Capture (rev 11)
Subsystem: Pinnacle Systems Inc. PCTV pro (TV + FM stereo receiver)
00:0a.1 Multimedia controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Audio Capture (rev 11)
Subsystem: Pinnacle Systems Inc. PCTV pro (TV + FM stereo receiver, audio section)
Yes, the bttv chip is autodetected and configured o.k. by harddrake, so this was working already in earlier versions.
I don't know how you start freevo but I think you don't redirect error message ( or fb problem ? ):
This is where the trouble start indeed. I just start 'freevo'. Nothing more.
I'm now testing on my dedicated Freevo box with 'freevo > /dev/null 2>&1', but after watching some TV, I still have the flickering cursor on screen standing in front of the graphics

I have just no clue how to fix this... yet

The reason I run Freevo in framebuffer, is that it simply always works, whereas X needs a bit configuration to make it work on a TV screen. Besides that, running without X makes it run faster

Do you change keymap in freevo ? I can't get video and tv in fullscreen mode
What do you mean by changing the keymap? The problem of full screen video is something with Freevo...
Somehow, when I play video from the cli, typing just 'mplayer /name/of/the/video.mpg' it works, but when played from Freevo (which is just frontending for mplayer) the video suddenly is not played full screen.
Of course I could configure Freevo to pass streching to mplayer, so it is played full screen, but then my Athlon XP2000+ can't keep up.
Again, I have not found a solution for this yet.
I have trouble at shutdown ( o_o ) .. no eject cdrom ?
What exactly do you mean?
I don't know if MCNLive ejects the cdrom on shutdown? It's a simple remaster of MCNLive, nothing more, nothing less

All other menu work fine ( i don't test record and webserver ) .. good job
Cool!

From the FreevoLive .08 topic in the Dutch section of the forum, Chris told me you have done a live multimedia system based on MCNLive yourself. If you have any ideas on how to fix some of those bumps in the road, please share it with me
