Hello everyone,
I am in the process of jumping off the M$ bandwagon, but hope to get some help for a smooth transition. I found the MCNLive distro, burned it to test it out and it won against ubuntu, slax, dsl and others because of its recognition of hardware, screen resolution, set of software and so on.. just blabbing.. sorry.
I have two questions. on my laptop i need to get the dlink dwl-g650 b4 running.. my understanding requiring madwifi. does anybody have instructions to get it up and running ?
the other question is for my desktop running an ati radeon 9800 with dual monitor. how can i set up mcnlive to handle dual monitors, as well as get 3d to run on the ati.
any help is appreciated !!!

Hi Stefan, welcome,
* your dlink dwl-g650 b4 should work out of the box, all madwifi stuff is included in MCNLive (Cherbourg and VirtualCity).
Did you try to configure it in MCC --> Network --> etc. ?
It should work with WEP and WPA.
* ATI: are you saying that you can't get your card handle the 3D desktop after following the steps on the wallpaper?
Are we talking about running the live version (CD or USB) or a hard disk installation?
(The wireless connection and the 3D desktop should work running live and after install to HD.)

yes, following the instructions gets me to the options screen and any 3d function is not available.

Reg. 3D desktop: Can you try a single monitor setup?
http://www.mandrivaclub.nl/site/index.php?...indpost&p=79063I am not very familiar with multi-head, dual-monitor configs I am sorry.
Maybe you would need the proprietary ATI driver, I am unsure.
The 3D desktop, AIGLX/compiz version is already a bit dated, don't know how well they deal with dual-monitor.
If you can't get it to work, I hope that the next edition with a much improved 3D desktop will solve this. To be expected in april.
