MCNLive boots without asking for a username or password (that only happens when you restart KDE). Is there a way to change that for a remaster?

I think you can just make those changes in MCC, and then make a remaster of the system with this changed config. Why don't just try it?

correct! I installed MCNLive on my HD, and made a completely new user as well for it, instead of guest.

The only thing I can't seem to change is the palm tree beach image that is the KDE login background in MCNLive. Any ideas how one can change that one?

The KDE login background is a hidden feature
You need to edit manually two config files.

/etc/kde/kdm/backgroundrc

and

/usr/share/mdk/dm/mdk-kde.xml
