I try to set the screen resolution automatically to 1152x864 when I start up mcnlive
I have installed mcnlive to my usb pendrive, and am starting up from usb
I had my nvidia driver installed first, and it is loaded using dkms.
I have changed syslinux.cfg on my usb-drive so it had
noxauto xdrv=nvidia xbpp=24 xres=1152x864

in the append line
It does not work. I always have to change my screen resolution afterwards (being root) to 1152x864 to get the resolution I want.
I have tried all different kinds of combinations of the option described above.
Does this option have any effect at all? Who has changed his resolution successfully, and what are the options to use?

These are old cheatcodes. They don't exist on Cherbourg/VirtualCity.

Open a webbrowser on the live cd, cklick on: bootcodes, there you'll find valid bootcodes.

There is no way (in mcnlive) to manually at startup set a different resolution than the automatical configured one, the only way is to either run XFdrake in init 3 or after login run the MCC/ video config tool.

Of course you can save your own xorg.conf file somewhere and copy it over, afterwards.

Oops, then I have been cheated myself. Looks like an april 1 joke to me. The bootcodes were on a list of McnLive anyway, so they should be cleared.

This is exactly what I am doing right now. I added it to the rc.local (see the other post). See if it works.

One other issue: McnLive does not like usb-routers or connectors. I have to disconnect when starting up, otherwise the system hangs at the usb-detection. At first I thought it was my usb-mouse, but then I realised I had to connect my mouse directly to the usb-port.

This is not MCNLive - it is your broken (usb) hardware icon_cheesygrin.gif - or the kernel which does not like your broken USB.
