don't get me wrong mcnlive is great, but is there anyting else out there as far as live usb systems go, that is not slackware based? Also, how hard would it be to make ones own liveusb system based off a livecd such as ubuntu or pclinuxos.

What makes you think MCNLive is Slackware based??

it DOES involve info about SLAX, but since I dont use that distro I didnt spend much time in that area of the book, but if you are very familar with that distro you can probably find a lot of what you need right there!

sorry I worded my statement wrong I know mcn is based on mandriva I meant are there any liveusb's that arent slackware cause i know about slax and nimblex(sp) which are slack based liveusbs sorry for the confusion

Loads of 'em, should not be too hard to find if you'd ask me...

Knoppix for example is Debian based (and I believe even the first ever live distro).
Damn Small Linux I believe is also Debian based.
Mandriva One, Mandriva's official live cd
