are you going to be using MKLIVECD?

I was told over in the m.com forums that they had gone to another tool set

it slips my mind at the time, but someone had made comment that it was supposed to be a much better toolset, just with out all the documentation that mklivecd has due to its newness.

The official MDV One is made with draklive, indeed a much better toolset, but very limited, no copy2ram, no remastering, no different cheatcodes, no additional menu entries, you can't even make a livecd from an _installed_ system (or I am too stupid to know how). I can't use these build tools, and I don't know anyone besides some MDV officials who are able to

I have prepared a brand new mklivecd code which merges the best of draklive and mklivecd. It already works on 2007.1, but not yet on 2008.0

i understand that mdv has some money tied up because they actually developed and marketed an flash based product. but it was so limited, one would think that they would have learned from fedora and no ubu, to just make it part of the distro.

i havent tried ubu's yet, but i know that fedora has started REALLY advertising the fact that THEIR latest release has an automatic backup AND roll your own functionalty built in.

i hope that this isnt another case where mdv falls behind again due to more corporate structure and less open source.

i have finish edited some script mklivecd 2008.0, and using your hwdetect from mcnlive.toronto i'm using mandriva 2008.0 for remastering

now status project:
- 100% can create iso file
- succes burning on DVD and succes booting
- BUT:
the mandriva 2008.0 my live cd, can't write on HDD when i'm using draklive-install (draklive-installl process runing so fast just 1 minute, i guess 'some think wrong in processed')

I'm currently working on using draklive on an installed and running system, but since its a new toolset there is a lot to learn.

having used mklivecd in the past I think it would be a much asier foundation to work from.

Jerome, better to do not mention any e-mail address. Spam robots love those things. You can send a Personal message to any MCNL Forum member and vice versa.
You can adjust your own posting (or an admin can do) and I kindly advise you to do this instantly. Better safe than sorry.

thanks for the suggestion, i did pull it out, after i realized my email is on the web site as well.

as for the personal message, unfortunately I've never been able to figure out if there are options on the forum to display the controls in english (unfortunately my school focus was on engineering not languages), my attempt at editing my email and taking my address out was pure luck.

i honestly figure that spam is a part of life on the net, so other than a few different filters on each ccount, i just deal with what does get through.

You might copy in some html lines called mailform. People can respond by sending you an email without having to display your email address.

People here have put a lot of effort in translating everything into dutch and now you are complaining?

We might produce a small dictionary of usefull commands for non (flying) dutchmen. Is that a good idea?

I hhave one idea already, but I think that you may have already put some of it together using mklive, whereas I'm using draklive.
i'd rather use the mklive because its more fmilar to everyone, and easier to work with.
