Hi biggrin.gif
first I'd like to thank chris for this marvelous Linux distribution thanks.gif
I'm not a big fan of linux myself (as I don't like to spend my sparetime typing thousands of command lines unsure.gif ) but I was looking for a live distribution for usb drive and this one looked perfect
now I know it is... well almost tongue.gif

I have 2 questions considering the loop file :

1) I've created a loop file and rebooted with the "livecd persist" command to create my configuration but not all of it seems to have been saved.
I always have to click the keyboard in the systray to change the keyboard config (it's always on USA by default and I use 'azerty'), it's not that hard I know, but I was wondering why it is not saved
also my display config (screensaver, desktop picture, power saving setting, etc...) is not saved
in fact the only "persistant" thing I see after each boot is that the wireless network profile is correctly saved (but doesn't connect automatically unsure.gif )
by the way, congrats !!! it's the first time I see wifi working on linux icon_idea.gif
my loop file is 50 MB only, is it enough to save the whole distro configuration ?
or is there a thing to do to save the config manually (typing a command, clicking a button somewhere, etc...) ?

2) Can I add/remove software ? like install Firefox or OpenOffice ? were will it be installed ? in the loop file ? (if yes I need to make it bigger tongue.gif )
if this is possible, how can I do it ? and will this softwares configuration (bookmarks, extensions, etc...) be saved ?

I hope I made myself clear since english isn't my native language blush.gif
and I thank anyone who could help me through this biggrin.gif

I've managed to save my configuration and install some software, mainly firefox and nvidia drivers (the 3D desktop is unbelievable !)
I've also installed the kde-i18n-fr package using the software manager in the MCC and set the language to French in the MCC also
but KDE is still in english except... on the login screen where it's in French
but if I log in, KDE turns back to english, I d'ont understand what I did wrong

can somebody help please ?

sorry for asking so much questions but I'm a newbie on linux and this distribution is the only one I really managed to do something with (mainly because of the good hardware detection)
kris
In the KDE Control Center you need to 'push' the French Language to be the first!! Make it the default. There is an arrow button to do this.

thanks a lot, I'll try this smile.gif
